International Women’s Day 2023

Last Wednesday, 8 March, Hotel Gosford and Coasties Magazine celebrated International Women’s Day by hosting an event for 170 like-minded ladies of the Central Coast community.

The celebration was marked by a delectable two-course lunch, dazzling performances by the fabulous Marney McQueen, and a display of incredible local artworks.

The highlight of the event was an eye-opening discussion on this year’s theme, #EmbraceEquity, with Kathy Rhodes. Attendees were able to engage in an important conversation about the need for gender equality and ways in which everyone can contribute towards creating a more equitable society.

The event was not just about celebrating and empowering women, but also giving back to the community. The event raised $4,000 for We Care Connect, a volunteer-powered local charity that provides essential preloved children’s items to families in need. This is a fantastic initiative that will make a difference in the lives of many families in the community.

The day was truly brought to life with live music from Veronika Lawson, cocktails, an assortment of cupcakes by Cakes by Kyla, and the most generous goodie bags we’ve ever seen.

It was heartening to see so many amazing women from the local community come together to celebrate and empower each other.

The event was made possible thanks to the efforts of Hotel Gosford and Coasties Magazine, as well as the support of local businesses and our attendees.
